Zita Botelho has spent twenty years working on a variety of environmental issues for the non-profit, private and public sectors, both domestically and internationally. She is currently the Program Director, Watersheds BC. She has worked as a consultant and as a public servant at Environment Canada and BC MOE. At BC MOE, she led the development of Living Water Smart and the policy development for the BC Water Sustainability Act. More recently she led the Sustainable Funding for Watershed Governance Initiative. She is passionate about water issues and the challenging intersection of social-ecological systems and the complex challenges that we face in water management and governance.
