Brian Carruthers

Chief Administrative Officer, Cowichan Valley Regional District

As CAO, Brian oversees the operations of the Regional District, provides guidance and support to the Board of Directors as well as liaises with local First Nations, provincial and federal governments. Brian has been working in local government for almost 15 years in a variety of executive senior level roles. Prior to his appointment in 2014 at the CVRD, he was the CAO at the Regional District of Central Kootenay and City of Williams Lake. Prior to joining local government, Brian worked for thirteen years with BC Ministry of Environment in the Parks and Protected Areas Division.
